Have you ever wanted to love what you do or thought if they can do it why can’t I? Well, these are basically the 2 reasons why I got started on this journey. Honestly, as I traveled through South East Asia and I kept seeing all these amazing pieces of jewelry or accessories I wanted to bring them back to Canada and open up a shop. I mean how would life look if I could travel and shop making purchases for my own store? Pretty amazing right? That is still my ultimate dream but in reality, I mainly source out my stock online, and in the last couple of years have also started making and designing my own pieces. I have yet to go to a show where you walk the booths and place orders which will happen eventually I’m sure… and I am ok to wait!
VIETNAM! I cannot say enough good things about Vietnam, the people are some of the nicest humans I have ever met. The main things in life that matter to the Vietnamese are family, love and helping others. Their hospitality is something that is next level not to mention how frickin’ delicious their cuisines is? Don’t even get me started on Bahn Mi ( a traditional Vietnamese Sub made on fresh french bread) which you can buy them on the street for less than a $1, let's just say there were a few days when Geoff and I had more than 1 (insert monkey covering his eye emoji). When we were there we did a private motorcycle tour, I know I sound hardcore but I was on the back. We went all throughout the countryside taking in as much we could, it is a beautiful country. We love Saigon because being that hustle and bustle eating all that delicious food + drinking beers on the street sitting in the tiniest chairs were some of our funnest memories. On the flip side, we LOVED Hoi An like many that have been. The architect throughout the town is unreal, very old world. The town is along the riverside sprinkled with delicious food, businesses and a tone of tailor shops! We rented bicycles every day for a $1 and rode them to the beach… I mean does it get any better than that?!
I always wanted to be a DJ or TV Broadcaster. I am not sure why I was always drawn towards that maybe because I loved to talk?! I did a huge project in High School all on the program at BCIT and I was seriously thinking about it. But in the end, I chose to travel over higher education then when I came back I started working in the restaurant industry and hey here we are! I guess with social media these days you do have to put yourself out there talking and on video. So in some way or another, I do have a touch of it in my life. Although, talk to anyone who did the broadcast schooling or who is doing the job they would probably tell me to beat it… lol!
